About Orla
Clinical Specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist
About me
I am a Clinical Specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience dedicated to helping women feel stronger, more confident and supported in their health. I qualified with a BSc Honours Degree in Physiotherapy from Keele University in 2005.
I began my journey into women’s health in 2009 at Cork University Maternity Hospital, where working in a busy tertiary maternity hospital sparked my passion for women’s health and pelvic health physiotherapy. Early in my career, I travelled to New Zealand where I progressed into a senior physiotherapy role, gaining valuable international experience and further developing my expertise in pelvic health care.
Since taking up a Senior Physiotherapist role in 2013 at Cork University Maternity Hospital, I have continued to specialise in the assessment and treatment of pregnancy-related conditions, postnatal recovery and pelvic floor dysfunction. In 2023, I was appointed Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physiotherapy, reflecting my commitment to advancing clinical practice and delivering high-quality care for women.
My approach combines evidence-based treatment with a compassionate, supportive environment where women feel comfortable discussing their concerns. I am passionate about empowering women with the knowledge, confidence and tools they need to return to the activities and lifestyles they enjoy.
